1. What is Aging in Place?
Aging in Place means you get to grow old gracefully while staying in the safety and comfort of your
home.
2. What are the most common areas of trauma for people who are aging?
The most common areas of trauma according to the Dept. Of Health is the bathroom.
There are several simple recommendations we can make to greatly reduce these risks.
3. If I'm a senior, how do I know my house is safe?
The average person does not spot the potential dangers because they aren't trained on what to look
for. Call us and we will give you 3 quick tips on what to look for!!!
4. What is an In Home Evaluation and how much does it cost?
An In Home Evaluation looks at all areas of your home starting at the entryways of the home and then
all interior aspects of the home such as the bathroom, kitchen, hallways etc. Based on an in depth
study and a formal evaluation sheet we developed, we write down products, remodeling and services
that might help you age in the comfort of your own home without leaving your treasured memories,
belongings and community behind.
5. What sets you apart from any other remodeler?
A. We have achieved a Certified Aging In Place Specialist II designation by the
National Assoc. of Home Builders therefore making us experts in our field.
B. We give detailed estimates so you know exactly what services and products you are getting.
C. We clean up everyday and maintain cleanliness on the job daily by using tools that achieve a 98%
dust free environment, and we have a 24' Job trailer to reduce noise and dust in your home.
D. We are one of the only remodelers that specializes in Remodeling Accessibility.
6. Do you only do remodeling for seniors and handicap accessible?
No, Shrom's Remodeling Inc has been serving Berks County since 1986 in the areas of kitchens,
baths, rec. rooms, windows & doors and painting. We handle Andersen & Simonton Windows,
Thermatru Doors Kraftmaid kitchens and Sherwin Williams paint just to name a few.
7. Do you have references and why is the fact that you have liability insurance important?
Being in business this long, yes we have plenty of references. Three of which are on the Photos Page
of this site.
Plus one of them was actually interviewed in the Reading Eagle Times June 15, 2008.
Liability Insurance is important because if you hire a contractor that doesn't have it and they get hurt
working in your home...they can sue you.
